John McCain wants to make the case that his experience as squadron leader qualifies, and it does demonstrate leadership, but not executive experience. Both Rudy and Romney have led entire organizations in both the public and private sectors, with Romney getting the best in this area.

One aspect of the Presidency that many look at as a hind sight, is the candidates ability to build a winning team around him. The skill needed and indeed honed is the ability to listen to that team and make the appropriate decision based on facts and long term goals. I've much more faith that someone like Romney would have these developed these skills.
