Post 249 of this thread speculates earnings will be announced on Oct 15. Seems early to me. In 1996 earnings were reported on Oct 28; in 1995 on Oct 24. But the situation could be different this time. Report might be delayed to completely consider all the changes announced last quarter. Or report could come early if earnings story is decent and managements wants to stem the current stock slide.
