Re- The world's top 10 military spenders and the approximate amounts each country currently budgets for its military establishment are:
1. United States (FY08 budget), $623 billion 2. China (2004), $65 billion 3. Russia, $50 billion 4. France (2005), $45 billion 5. United Kingdom, $42.8 billion 6. Japan (2007), $41.75 billion 7. Germany (2003), $35.1 billion 8. Italy (2003), $28.2 billion 9. South Korea (2003), $21.1 billion 10. India (2005 est.), $19 billion
World total military expenditures (2004 est.), $1,100 billion World total (minus the United States), $500 billion
Wow. That is one sobering set of statistics. Between phony politicians who will say and do anything to get elected; to Investment Bankers who created this mess and meltdown in the financial markets; to this fiscal nightmare of the military industrial defense complex and the unfunded nightmares of social security and medicare- this country faces a very dark future.
It's going to take a historic crisis to change things and that crisis looks to be growing ever closer.
Ron Paul is the cure. But, I am beginning to wonder if he REALLY has a burning desire to become President. To actually win? Time is fleeting. The time is now. This guy needs to ratchet up his game about 30 decibels and in straight, plain talk- tell America how damn bad things are and how nightmarish they may become. He needs to create some damn enemies and I he doesn't seem willing to do that.
Obama is a political sugar fix for dreamers. He isn't the cure.
I would have no problem voting for a Democrat,if he was the best candidate, just like Democrats had no problem voting in huge numbers for Reagan.
I honestly think Paul is the right guy, but, Ron Paul just isn't showing the desire, the intensity and doesn't seem willing to cross the line necessary to really get Americas attention about how serious the problems are.
Sad state of the union tonight.
