The table lies, food costs closer to $500-700 per month counting the incidentals.
You can show me all the tables you have but I have done the family grocery shopping for 25 years and the number is much higher than 4%.

We eat a good diet that includes fresh veggies and fruit and quality meats but I am not talking the ritz here.

Just figure an average income of $60,000 per year net or gross and food is more than $2400/yr! NUFF SAID.
