All Identix.....
How does a police department find out, in a few minutes, if the suspect they are holding is a really bad guy?...Live-scan...searching state or federal data-bases. Without live-scan, the process can take days or even weeks.
Industry experts expect a billion dollar live-scan market by the year 2000. That will be alot of machines...for a very few companies.
The State of Ohio bought $1.2 million worth of TP-600 live-scan about three months ago.....This initial contract placed machines in some of the larger metro areas. It is open-ended, so that more machines can be added by Ohio Police departments over the next year at the same volume pricing. Here is the Ohio announcement:

These contracts are great for Identix.....$ 1.8 million is not peanuts,(23 machines) and this contract will keep giving for months and years to come. It is great to look for the huge mega-deal....and believe me, I do.....But we need to look for the Ohio contracts for the base-line growth. A couple of machines here, a few more there. Some more to Ohio....a few to California...ect.
Do not believe that Government contracts are not good business.....Lockheed never has.
