True. If the market is not your hobby or you don't enjoy chatting with retired friends on the chair lifts or while waiting for wind to windsurf about your "fun investments" then you should probably stick to a quality core portfolio for retired folks. Then again, you should not pay attention to market timers either.

It is hard to believe Brinker took his P3 to 64% equities as of Jan 1 2008. If the market were to close near the low for the month, he could have some very unhappy subscribers who were not expecting that much negative volatility in a "balanced" portfolio.
