It is always used. It is the SI units for work. Kilo Meters??? You are a nutcase.

That should have been Kg-Meters. I rarely use SI anymore. As I recall Joules is Newton-Meters, rarely used except for college physics and of little value when related to earth's surface. You only understand books not everyday application. In fact HP is defined using the English measurement for work as Ft-Lbs. Slugs are not used, so the SI equilivant is Kilogram-Meters.
