After WW II we had insurgents in Germany, but not much reporting of it. The insurgents were basically covering for Nazis trying to get out of the country so it was pretty much over by 47.

Korea is not yet over, still a cold war that could turn hot at any time.

We beat the North Viet's, forced them to make a peace treaty which held till Congress voted not to fund SV nor take part in their defense. Then NV started an all out war with supplies from China and won. Then they killed millions of SV citizens.

Iraq is not yet over but we are winning. If McCain or either Democrat wins we will likely lose in the same manner as Vietnam.
