Far too much is made of Bush's grades. Kerry had worse grades, as did many other politicians. Both of them did very poorly their freshman year but improved after that. After Bush's Freshman year Bush would have been a B student at Yale, including his Freshman year makes him about a C+. I think there has been some grade inflation since then. Students are more likely to get A's now, but I'm not sure of any simple and reasonably accurate way to adjust for that.

Gore's best grades where better than Bush's best, but his worst grades where worse (Bush didn't fail any classes, and only got one high D, Gore failed several classes).

This whole Bush is stupid theme, is itself rather stupid. Its also besides the point. Its not his grades or his IQ that are the issue, its his politics and his record. Obviously different people have different opinions about those, but arguing over his Yale transcript is just a sideshow to the real issues.
