WILL EARTHLINK SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN TO BAN LAND MINES, AND BOYCOTT ROCKWELL?

Dear Garry Betty,

It is a privilege to be able to post to you here, and issue this challenge:

EarthLink seems to be one of the more socially aware companies, and tries to appeal to customers with a global perspective.

One of the most important issues today is the International Campaign to Ban Land Mines, who just won the Nobel Peace Prize! (Jody Williams is my hero.)

A major effort of the movement is the boycott of comapnies that still make these horrible weapons that the civilized world wants banned. Already, Motorola agreed to stop selling switches for land mines! Now, we focus on Rockwell. Rockwell is an important land mines producer, and also makes many modems and chips used by Earthlink and other ISPs.

Can Earthlink commit to joining UNICEF and other humanitarian groups in boycotting all Rockwell products until they stop making land mines?

What a wonderful, bold action for peace that would be!

Wishing you the best, and Hoping you'll do the right thing,
Black Dahlia

from unicef.org :
"Apart from the demand for mines from combatants, one of the major
problems is that dozens of companies around the world, many of them
household names, are still content to manufacture and sell these destructive
devices. An increasing revulsion at this trade is encouraging a number of
organizations to refuse to do business with companies involved in the sale or
production of such weapons. Among United Nations organizations, UNICEF
has joined the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
(UNHCR) in supporting such a boycott."
