Dear TEDennis, re: future problems

>>Please contact me after the Y2K fiasco has cooled off. I'm sure we can work out something for a future problem.<<

It has been brought to my attention by another well-informed SI poster that an upcoming problem does indeed exist.

Whilst it is common knowledge that within the spec of the Gregorian calendar, years divisible by 4 are considered "Leap Years", it is not widely known that the exceptions to the rule are particular centurial years -- those which are not divisible by 400. Thus, the years 1600, 2000, and 2400 are leap years, but 1900 and 2100 are not!

2100 may be a potential problem worth exploiting. It is quite probable that we may be dead by then, and unable to capitalize upon this grave danger to the future of computing. I propose we immediately move ahead with marketing and 'awareness seminars' devoted to "The Y2.1K Disaster -- A Leap Over the Edge"!

Please review this situation and get back to me at your earliest convenience regarding the prompt placement of FBN into this market.

Yours Sincerely,
-Bill Ulrich
