Tim;

No there hasn't been any reckless tax cutting. In fact taxes should be cut still more.

That was point in asking if we should cut taxes to zero. Obviously government can't run without any money, so how do you determine what is the proper amount of taxes? ........You can't continue to cut taxes and then make the excuse that we "should" have cut spending. That's like going on a cruise trip to Mexico and putting it on your credit card and then being suprised when the bill comes in the mail. Well of course you should have not gone on the cruise, but it is the idea that you can spend more than you take in and damn the consequences that is the problem. Discipline will only come when you have to pay (Taxes) for what you spend (cost to run the government). When you put cruise after cruise on your credit card and then get stuck paying along with interest, you at some point will have to adjust your lifestyle.

The two - taxes and spending are really one.
