KT,

>And the corps hire workers. In China. The Philippines. In Latin America. How does that benefit the USA, which is paying them to screw our workers?<

As far as giving financial incentives to move jobs out of the US, that's just retarded unless there is a political motive that far outweighs the economic stupidity of financial suicide.

IMHO, there is almost zero doubt that globalization is a good thing for the "world" economically. Standards of living will rise faster OVERALL. However, what is good for the world is not necessarily good for each individual country (despite what the propaganda says), especially in the short term.

It really depends on your perspective.

If you view yourself as a citizen of the world that just happens to be an American, then you should probably be a fan of globalization and not be upset that standards of living are rising faster elsewhere at the expense of Americans living now. If you consider yourself an American citizen and part of "TEAM USA", then you should have some serious reservations about what we are doing.

It's a matter of how nationalist you want to get and want your corporations to be. Unfortunately, if you want to be nationalist and keep jobs here, foreign capital out, etc... over the long term you wont be able to compete outside the US and will fall behind.
