KT,

The other republicans can't stand Romney because he doesn't have the financial strains of their campaigns, they think he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and he runs a lot of attack ads.

I think that's the less interesting story. The more interesting story is the number of conservatives that absolutely hate McCain and are going all out to defeat him even though they don't even like Romney.

The fact is, the conservatives didn't have a candidate other than Thompson, but he didn't want the job.

So they are stuck with a cross dressing north eastern RINO; a Massachusetts RINO that once "out liberaled" Ted Kennedy trying to get a job; a semi senile RINO that's not too bright, was 100 degrees against the base on immigration; doesn't have a clue about business, economics, or pretty much anything else other than being a politician and Washington insider; and a religious conservative that's to the left of most democrats on everything else.

Seriously, if the democrats can't win this year they should just all kill themselves.

One of the most unpopular presidents in history is in power, the economy is dipping into a recession, and close to half the republicans HATE their own probable candidate.
