Dear Michael Burke:

I have been an infrequent lurker on this thread,
but my attention was peaked by your view that the
Japanese market may have bottomed out. I have the
same feeling, and observed also that a fund manager
interviewed by Barron's this weak was recommending
Japanese small caps.

What is your assessment of Japanese big caps versus
small caps? Which ones do you expect to do the best
during the next 18 months? I guess the advantage of big
caps is that most of them are international franchises.
However they are probably not nearly as undervalued as
small caps.

Your thoughts on this topic would be appreciated.
