I've being trying to figure out the market for Spansions high density products and I've come out a blank.
Mobile phones manufactures are largest customers. Basically you have 2 types of mobiles, mid and high end phones. These use a NOR / MicroSD card combination. The most common NOR size is 64MB.
The low end typically uses 16MB or NOR with no MicroSD.
So, Spansion must be selling high density products purely to the embedded market and/nor niche products.

Anyway I can't see how the ORNAND chip is useful in a mobile. It's supposidly offers the maufactures an advantage because they can use one ORNAND chip instead of a NOR and A NAND, but all the phones are using MicroSD cards anyway as bulk storage.
