cef.a - that's different, not an ETF but a closed-end fund, with management that inspires a good deal of trust, been at it for years ... McAvity was one of the first 'chartists', as TA types were called back in the days before computers, and he has a sterling reputation - you will know where your metal is, until such day as the government does pounce

For ease of trading sizeable amounts it's the way to go, also you get with it opportunities to play the premium/discount ... still, nothing replaces having an actual grip on something, i am not big on physical personally but like having a little, it's not so much about investment as about other qualities

Juniors are all about financing cycles, always have been ... whether or not they enjoy success with the drillbit and/or development, you still have to watch share structure like a hawk ... and it's true [you make this point in a recent post] that a lot of fresh paper is being created in the last few years, together with ETFs sopping up loose money this is no doubt eroding demand for juniors, many of whom have executed well and deserve much better

We'll still get a good rally this winter/spring imho ... 'Build it and they will come'
