>>>>>>he only thing your generation says to me is "I'm on a fixed income" when it's their turn to buy the drinks.....
hmmmmmm
not too sure that is a true statement, Blue
as I recall, last time I saw you I purchased a couple of drinks AND dinner, whereas I'm failing remember anything for which you've paid
and, on the "your generation" dealie
seems to me that I'm only ten years *(mayhaps it is 12, but no more) older than are you .... is that amount considered a generation?
hmmmmmm
now I will grant you the fact that in Dallas the prices are a GREAT deal more economical than up east ....
my niece and her hubby just purchased a two bedroom whatevertheycallit (condo/apt/townhome/etc) late last year... which is the MASSIVE size of 1200 ft sq in Harlem (of all places this ol Dixieguy can consider gotta be on the bottom) for 3/4+
moved out of a Manhattan whatevertheycallit a tad smaller that rented for 5600bucks
my home --- as you recall I designed it, subbed it out, did a lot of the actual work myself ---- a wee bit over 5500 ft sq with 5 baths, 6 b/r is paid for and cost me less than 250k
of course, I know this is roughly the size of your servant's quarters
and, indeed, my income is NOT fixed unfortunately, it is whatever Mar chooses to give me
