Not just that but the idea that the US government would face a hit on its credit rating because the current level of deficits is rather silly. They are higher than I'd like but they are pretty normal, actually below the average since 1970, and lower than many other wealthy countries (both as a percentage of GDP, nominal dollars is a fairly useless measure)
