egads this is going no where. So I'm reposting my position from earlier today... No nation state is going to goad the greatest super power the world has ever known into a fight by direct military threat, but that is far from there being no threats. "The establishment of nation states tending toward growth and development, with global implications and with armed forces protecting borders, by definition is a condition of being threatened by every other nation state while being a threat to every other nation state. The nature of threat, the significance, or the relevance of those threats determines our posture with regards to other nations." Its a complex issue not amenable to the rational discourse of 'uh huh' and 'nuh uh prove it'.
