Some Organic Light Emitting Diode Display News: During October 6 to 10, Japan Electronics Show 97 was held in Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan, and five research groups from Japanese industry showed nice demonstrations of their organic EL display devices. 1. Pioneer group: announcement of thier commercial products, FM voice/character radio for automibile use. Their commercial products will appear in a Japanese market in the middle of Nevember this year. 2. Idemitsu-kosan group: 5-inch and 10-inch full-color displays (use of color exchange medium from blue emission, simple matrix driving mode). 3. NEC group: 5-inch full color display (three independent RGB emitters, simple matrix driving), and green dot-matrix displays. 4. TDK group: 5-inch green monocolor display (active matrix driving) 5. Stanley Electrics group: green dot-matrix display, highly bright blue, green and orange numeric displays.
