Well, I object to Hillary on several different levels. The first is my own objection to another round of CLintons. I believe that Obama holds the best chance of altering the zeitgeist of our country, which I see as absolutely a priority. Hillary has far too much negative baggage, and frankly, I have very strong objections to the return of Bill. There is little doubt in my mind that this is a joint presidency. She has certainly claimed that his was. The strong feelings surrounding his presidency and her personality, imo, will be huge obstructions in ending the ugliness and divisiveness we have now.
Second, I am not in favor of expanded liberal programs, and I have strong doubts about universal health care, so in that respect she doesn't automatically appeal to me as she does confirmed liberals. I am voting for Obama because of what I said above. As neither a committed lib or conservative, I view uniting the country, inspiring the country, as absolutely the most important task of the next president. McCain is not the man for that. And of course, there is the IRaq issue.
OBviously many of the things that concern me about Hillary are the things you see as desirable. |
