SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 13, 1997--Identix Inc.
(ASE:IDX), a leader worldwide in live-scan systems and biometric
identity verification systems, Monday announced that the Bureau of
Criminal Identification and Information (BCII) of the California
Attorney General's Office has ordered 28 TouchPrint-600 live-scan
systems.
The systems will be used both as upgrades, replacing older
TouchPrint-900 units in the BCII network, and at new locations. The
units, which were shipped at the end of September, will be placed at
police and sheriff's departments in 15 counties statewide, as well
as at several juvenile detention centers. Installations are being
scheduled by BCII over the next few months.
According to BCII Assistant Chief Gary Cooper, "Live-scan

arrest information is also electronically transmitted to the FBI.

hardcopy arrest fingerprint cards," Cooper continued. "The built-in
quality and sequencing checks and data validations in the live-scan
device ensure high quality output."

approved vendor list was then a major step in gaining national

plus the fact that Identix is an integral part of eight other
