Still, as little as your insurer paid for the negotiated rate, it was probably a multiple of what MediCare pays. There is a reason why doctors don't often take new Medicare patients.

Notice that John did not answer the question about Medicare. It is safe to assume that his earlier example is the 1970's negotiated rate and has no merit in the discussion excpet to prove why Socialized Medicine is a bad idea. Ok, possibly it is illustrative of John's level of honesty.
