The teaser in the link says rain forests dry up. Don't forests flourish with higher CO2 levels... You succeeded in getting the two issues in one sentence. Higher CO2 can help, but less rain does not. Increasing CO2 will not make up for lack of rain. The concern regarding rainforests is largely the Amazon region. IIRC, both models and data so far, indicate that the Amazon might be subject to significantly less moisture. What many people don't realise is that a large part of Northern Brazil is in fact quite arid already (Northeastern Brazil, inland from the coast just a bit). The vegetation over a very large area is savannah with scrub bush (catinga SP??). Further, significant parts of the Amazon actually have a dry season, it is not rainy all year. Much of the problems they will face are land use changes due to Ag (including the nutty biofuel business) causing moisture changes. TWT.
