Bob definitely into the view that inflation remains benign. Of course, there are many people that don't believe the government's statistical measure of inflation does justice to the true cost of living increases. I feel that way many times and I have had some guest editorialists weigh in on the subject as well in my newsletter and think there should be more debate about it. Certainly, the fact that the government chose to use the rental equivalency formula for real estate makes you wonder how much of an impact that had on the true cost of inflation. But there are many other things as well that seem to cost a heck of a lot more year-to-year than the CPI indicates. Perhaps we just consume more so it seems like things cost more. I would like to see more study on the issue of inflation since it is critical to people who are planning for retirement. - David
