Would this be an good site to determine what the fed is doing as far as printing is concerned? Any consensus on which would be the best chart? From Jan 2007 to now, it doesn't seem like there is a huge run up in the monetary base if this is accurate. Jan 2007 looked like about 853 billion and Jan 31,2008 it is at 860 billion. In the last two weeks it went from 854 billion to 860 billion so maybe now is the time they are turning on the printing presses. It looks like from August 2007 to Dec 2007 the monetary base dropped from 862 billion to 846 billion. research.stlouisfed.org[1][id]=BASE
Then from that low to now it is in an upswing.
