<<<Not to me. Most modern presidents come in with very little national experience (Carter, Reagan, Clinton, Bush Jr), and those who have were not necessarily successful (LBJ, Nixon, Bush Sr.)>>>

You don't make investments in this purely emotional way, so why would you select the next president of the US in this way?

I agree Carter, Reagan, Clinton, and Bush Jr. did not have a lot of experience, but they were all reasonably successful as governors.

The reasons why LBJ, Nixon, and Bush Sr. were not successful had nothing to do with experience. Besides, it takes more than experience to be successful.

To be successful, you have to have experience, lot of smarts, diligent, disciplined, willing to do the homework needed to do the job, and a lot of luck.

How could you possibly compare Bob Dole to Hillary? Compare the intellect.

Obama has just one year as senator and a few speeches for a track record. That doesn't mean he couldn't be a great president, but what is the rush?
