Tom - They are selling at Target, Office Depot and Circuit City -- although you might not always find them on the floor at CC stores. They are available at Circuit City and others on-line, however. I don't think the stores like to sell them because they make all the more expensive sets look bad by comparison. I saw a SONY right next to an Olevia at a CC store, and the SONY looked "washed out". Comparing prices, anyone would agree that the less expensive Olevia had a better picture -- and definitely a better price than that SONY.
My Olevia is performing beautifully. It's a 1080i set, and the picture is very sharp -- even during action, like a football game -- and the color is beautiful. I don't know if other sets have this, but when you turn the power OFF, a little blue light comes on next to the Power button on the set to let you know it's shut down. Otherwise, if you turn off your cable box first, the TV screen goes black and you think it's off, but it isn't until you power off the set.
One little annoyance: Time Warner hasn't come up with remote codes yet for the set I bought, so I have to use the set remote to power on and off and control volume, and the TW cable box remote for everything else. TW is supposedly updating codes each month, so I'm hoping that soon I'll get a code that will allow me to use their remote for all functions of the set. |
