The whole South Carolina thing, i.e. Bill's Jesse Jackson dig, started when Obama put Bill's whole presidency in the same category with Nixon. I'm surprised Bill didn't go apoplectic.

"I think that Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America in a way that, you know, Richard Nixon did not and in a way that Bill Clinton did not."

But the funny thing was that Obama didn't retort right back by pointing out his win with white folks in Iowa. And neither did the media.

Bill Clinton set himself right up for a real slam. I wondered at the time if halfway through that statement Bill wasn't thinking 'Uh oh... I sure wish I could suck these words right back in.'
