NYT's Kristol: "White women are a problem"

So this is the sort of thing we can look forward to reading in the New York Times thanks to their hiring of "serious, respected conservative intellectual" William Kristol as a columnist. Via Media Matters:

From the February 3 edition of Fox Broadcasting Co.'s Fox News Sunday:

BILL KRISTOL: Look, the only people for Hillary Clinton are the Democratic establishment and white women. The Democratic establishment -- it would be crazy for the Democratic Party to follow an establishment that's led it to defeat year after year. White women are a problem, that's, you know -- we all live with that.

[laughter]

JUAN WILLIAMS (National Public Radio correspondent and Fox News contributor): Not me!

HUME: Bill, for the record, I like white women.

KRISTOL: I know, I shouldn't have said that.

Dismissing the legitimacy of demographic groups that typically vote for Democrats is a time-honored Republican tradition - Democratic victories wouldn't happen if it weren't for blacks/women/whoever Republican pundits care to crap on this week, while Republican victories are the product of real voters (aka white men). And apparently it's the sort of serious, intellectual thing the New York Times wants to see in its pages. We'll be looking forward to that column.
