As I posted the link earthobservatory.nasa.gov
listed on mongabay.com is 404.

And as I said before.
pearly your reply is stupid in both the evidence you argue and the implied implication of your statements.

A few localized photos do not in any way help define deforestation in Brazil or elsewhere. Also the links at mongabay.com page you linked are still 404. Sucky paying attention to details as your post illustrates is what all gloom and doom environmental babble is about.

Did you even read what Dr Alan Grainger said?
You obviously did not look at non existent images you argue with.

Your post is a very profound state of stupidity or dishonesty.
You argue denial based upon mongabay.com 404 imagery. The requested URL /Library/Deforestation/deforestation_2.html was not found on this server.

And clearly in my post there is no scientists denial, it is how real science is done. Review current data and then assess it's meaning in context of past data and analysis.
"In the first attempt for many years to chart the long-term trend in tropical forest area, he spent more than three years going through all available United Nations data with a fine toothcomb – and found some serious problems."

Dr Grainger does not claim that tropical deforestation is not occurring, as there is plenty of local evidence for that. But owing to the lack of frequent scientific monitoring, something for which he has campaigned for 25 years, we cannot use available data to track the long-term global trend in tropical forest area with great accuracy.
