Tenchu,

BTW, what bothered me the most about McCain in 2000 was his very aggressive stand anti-Russian stand regarding Chechnya vs. humble foreign policy of Bush.

Now, in 2008, he is at it again. I wonder why. Surely, Putin is a despicable character, but why burn the bridges even before you are a president? We may need Putin one day...

It seems like an insignificant issue among all the other issues, but its one that bothers me. Second issue that bothers me is the whole supreme court justice issue, and that that (allegedly) said that Alito was too conservative. Then, when asked about Sandra Day O'Connor tenure, he gave positive response, somewhat hedging that he may be supporting her because she is a fellow Arizonan. But still, a little hard to swallow.

Then there is the issue of pandering to liberal media. But hopefully he has, or will by November 2008 learn his lesson.

Most of the other anti-McCain issues I hear from conservative radio talk shows don't bother me as much. If he is as effective at cutting spending as he claims to be, it more than makes up for his lukewarm support of Bush tax cuts.

Just thinking outloud...

Romney - I don't know. If the election was on looks, I think he looks the most presidential, and seems like a genuinely bright guy. Articulate too. But he is not going to win the elections. And I am not too convinced about his convictions.

Huckabee seems like a nice guy, but I would prefer to go listen to his sermon in a church than voting for him for president.

Ron Paul - I probably agree with the most as far as the overall philosophy, and probably on most issues too.

In the privacy of the voting booth, I may have an irresistible urge to vote for Ron Paul. If the kids go with me, I will most likely vote "responsibly" for McCain...

Joe
