Hi Bob! You have inspired me once again as you have so many times over the years. I am going to heed your advice and within a week, I will try to get our performance figures on theretirementadvisor.net published. We are extremely proud of our first year performances and our model portfolios actually beat the Marketimer portfolios with much less risk! But The Retirement Advisor newsletter is not in competition with Marketimer, so no need to worry.

On that score, I would also like to clarify that I don't view my other newsletter which you can learn about by clicking on my profile or visiting the other silicon thread at Subject 57142 to be in competition with Marketimer either. In fact, people can listen to Moneytalk for free or subscribe to the demand service as I point out in every newsletter. I have now published for about 9 years and I think people subscribe for the financial information I provide, and the honest approach I take to the newsletter. In fact, there are many of my subscribers that also subscribe to Marketimer as well. And your overall performance figures are certainly respectable. Although I can tell you that many of my subscribers follwed your QQQQ advice and as a consequence have about one third of their portfolios in the QQQQ which remain down about 45% even though it is over 7 years later. They cringe when they hear you brag about your performance figures and "timing" without mentioning the QQQQ investment that they still hold. It would go a long way to just acknowledge the bad recommendations with the good as nobody in the investment game is perfect.

As for me being an amateur, well I don't think I can really argue on that point. But then again, there is no "professional newsletter writer" licensing board that I know of, but I do work extremely hard to put out a quality newsletter 52 weeks a year, and many intra-week alerts. One of the difficulties I have had is trying to gather all of the information from about 1000 newsletters (including alerts) that I have sent over the last 9 years so that I can provide performance figures from inception. When I have completed that daunting task, I will publish them publically on my discussion thread on SI. I promise you that, but it will take some time to go through. I intend to include every thing, not just cherry picking.

Anyhow, its time to go start working again! - David Korn
