That budget will never pass, but it is important in that it says VOLUMES about where the Republicans head is at. It's in the sand.

Some budget will pass with Dem votes, that will be higher than Bush budget.

But you are absolutely right about Republicans with their head in the sand. It is a good description of the period of roughly 1998 to 2006.

The defeat in 2006 was a good thing, IMO, because Republicans are now in process of rediscovering their roots. It would have been much easier process if a charismatic leader came along for 2008 election, but it did not happen. So it will have to happen the hard way.
