I think hybrid rebates are a complete waste of time. If I gave a rebate, it would be to switch from heating oil to natural gas. It is a complete waste to be burning oil for heat, and then talk about funding gas-to-liquids projects.

I would gladly support a big tax on oil. But to sell it, simply reduce income taxes by an equivalent amount. But, you would need a president with some guts and half a brain, so that might be asking too much.
