Partisan Republicans and Democrats are trapped in the two party paradigm, obsessed with political "wins", like it's just another Super Bowl, rather than the good governance of the country. The current process is degenerating into gangland mentality, i.e., "It's okay if this warfare results in a wasteland, as long as we get to be in charge in the end." The same outlook as that of extremist Islam. It may take a 1930s style depression to wake up the core Democrats and Republicans to smell the smoking crater and determine there is a better path than the current political partisanship.
