Because I think we have looming economic problems on a global basis which will trump all good news, I have exited SONS, this time at a loss. Nonetheless, my net trading so far in SONS is profitable.

The recent stock market rally will fizzle.

A really nasty bear market and a recession which will be deeper than anyone imagines is upon us.

I am long cash, gold, US Treasuries funds, the Swiss Fr., the Yen, SKF (an ultra short ETF that shorts financials), as well as small positions in two refiners which are terribly underpriced at present.

I may sell the refiners as I have nice gains in them already.

Even sold my FXP position (an ultrashort ETF shorting Chinese shares) after a near 20% profit gained in less than 3 weeks. I think that FXP still has a lot to go to the upside but I am so bearish that I am taking small profits wherever I can. This does not apply to SKF which I believe will give me massive profits in about 12-18 months as financials hit the skids in a very big way.

I am also looking at SRS, which shorts commercial real estate.
