SystemSoft BIOS Provides Foundation For Low-Cost Desktop
And Mobile PCs Using Centaur's New CPU

NATICK, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 13, 1997--

IDT WinChip C6 Processor Offers OEMs A Competitive Alternative

SystemSoft Corp. (NASDAQ:SYSF), the industry's leading supplier of enabling software to PC manufacturers,
today announced that its BIOS software supports the new IDT WinChip C6 processor, announced today by
Integrated Device Technology (IDT), Inc. The IDT WinChip C6 processor was designed by Centaur
Technology, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of IDT. SystemSoft's system-level software enables system
vendors to take full-advantage of the CPU's capabilities, and quickly bring IDT WinChip C6-based platforms to
market.

''SystemSoft's BIOS software plays a key role in enabling much of the functionality in today's most popular
notebook platforms,'' said Joseph Baranowski, vice president of sales and marketing, Centaur Technology, Inc.
''SystemSoft's support of the IDT WinChip C6 is critical given the company's dominance in the mobile market.
The combination of Centaur's processor with SystemSoft's BIOS provides OEMs a powerful solution for
creating low-cost PCs.''

''The IDT WinChip C6 brings new price/performance capabilities to the x86 processor market,'' said Stephen J.
Gentile, vice president of marketing for SystemSoft's Platform Products Group. ''OEMs worldwide depend on
SystemSoft's BIOS software to bring added flexibility and functionality to their designs. SystemSoft is working
with Centaur to bring this same capability to PCs based on the IDT WinChip C6 processor.''

About the IDT WinChip C6

The IDT WinChip C6's small die size - a mere 88 mm2 - and low power is achieved by simplifying the
architecture and eliminating or reducing complex logic found in other processors. The small die size translates to
lower manufacturing costs and lower power dissipation. The processor delivers competitive performance, low
cost and lower power dissipation than other x86 processors. Targeted at the sub-$1,000 desktop and
sub-$2,000 mobile PC markets, the processor includes MMX-compatible instructions and will initially be
offered in speed versions up to 200MHz.

About SystemSoft's System-Level Software

SystemSoft's BIOS software is one of the industry's leading system-level software products, supporting the latest
desktop and mobile computing standards while also providing OEM customers maximum system design
flexibility and end-user manageability. Leading PC vendors that have licensed SystemSoft's product include
Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, Digital Equipment Corporation and NEC.

SystemSoft's system-level software suite includes a core BIOS, value added firmware layers for PCI, Plug and
Play, Power Management, DMI, USB and ACPI support, as well as easily customizable system control utilities
that enable the most technically advanced designs. SystemSoft's products are designed around a modular core
with easily customizable source code that allows system engineers to implement OEM-specific features into the
software and provides sophisticated design flexibility.
