A lot of Dems point to FDR as a successful president, but remember that America had to go through a Great Depression and a hellish war before reaching an era of prosperity. And FDR never lived to see it happen.

I bring up Carter because there are a LOT of similarities between Nixon and Dubya. I think CJ can put up a pretty good defense of Carter's policies, but I don't think anyone in the Democrat party wants to see a repeat of 1976-1980.
