That's fine. Another military type other than Webb? That is very difficult when one looks at Democrats or Independnts who could run. WWII produced the military men who were men and leaders. Vietnam was an unpopular war and produced few publicly recognized military leaders. The story on Iraq is still being written. Colin Powell should have run and did not. Condoleeza Rice,non military, always stands out-------but has her hands full with the diplomacy now which is where she is needed. Kerry would be a retread----and then there is his wife Mrs. Heinz. Portreus is still in command and not loved by Pelosi. Regarding Webb-----he appears conservative but I am not convinced he is-----he served only a partial term during the Reagan years. Webb would not have been elected if George Allen had not used a "politically not correct word" that noone knew the meaning of including George Allen. This country burns through a lot of excellent leaders because of statements that the media adds fire to--------Obama has been fortunate as the media has been very kind to him. Do you know of a military retired or active other than Webb? mj
