Microlog Corporation Introduces KeyStar Front End Module
Oct 13 1997 9:27AM CST, PRNewswireGERMANTOWN, Md., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- MICROLOG CORPORATION (Nasdaq: MLOG) has introduced KeyStar(TM), a telecommunications interface device to be sold as part of its Retail Solutions product line. KeyStar is tailor-made to meet the needs of the pharmacy and retail markets, and guarantees compatibility with any telephone system without the need for expensive upgrades.
KeyStar connects directly to incoming telephone lines, Microlog's Automated Prescription Refill System (APRS(R)), and an in-store telephone system. It provides the necessary interface and switching capability to receive calls, and/or transfer calls to any department within the store. Additional functionality includes an interface capability to the public address system for in-store paging, a music-on-hold interface, and support for a system administration telephone and modem connection to the APRS. In order to meet the emergency needs of customers, KeyStar incorporates patented Microlog technology which can automatically transfer a customer, who has called their local pharmacy after normal operating hours, to the nearest 24-hour chain pharmacy.
KeyStar is available in two principal configurations: an "all-in-one" package with Microlog's APRS system and software, or as a stand-alone device which interfaces with Microlog's APRS board and software solution residing in a pharmacy's in-store processor.
