Sounds like a coup de grace by the foreign central banks. Or, lets suppose they simply don´t buy while the dollar is on the rise.

Many variables didnt add up, but perhaps I am blinded by the absolute level of the 30 years issue. It is impossible to tell whether it is "cheap" or expensive. Cheap when it comes to the yield curve, expensive when I looked at inflation expectations.

The hedging requirements are low as the corp. and mtg credit demand is not high these days either.
