Competition works. Service providers will be like car dealers. You end up paying more every 4 years, but you shop for the best deal. Every dealer is different even if it's the same brand. Every community has different service deals and quality of service. TVPredictions Swann just wrote about how his dad dropped DTV for Comcast. The ones who get screwed are the ones who don't shop periodically because the new stuff isn't passed on unless you threaten to drop them. Good for vendors who invest in long range R&D hoping the CAPEX will be there when they come calling. Good for ARRS DOCSIS bad for VYYO 3 GHz. Great for those who service all three like HLIT and SEAC(2 of 3).
