Since this announcement centers arounds Windows CE I think it is rather unlikely that Lernout & Hauspie would be mentioned. To run voice recognition software properly requires more hardware, memory, disk space and speed than devices which currently run CE can muster. Definitely hold onto Lernout & Hauspie as something further may be said at COMDEX in NOV or early in 98. Also from MSFT annual report it is interesting to see that MSFT for the first time as far as I know has listed linguistics as one of the major objectives\focuses for a comming year (1998).
