Veepstakes! - The Results Posted by TOM BEVAN
Wow, you guys love to play Veepstakes! TM as much as I do! Here's the list, along with the number of mentions each person received in parentheses. Ties have been listed in alphabetical order. I will keep updating it throughout the day as more votes come in, but it looks like we've got just about everybody covered:

A couple of thoughts on the list: some names on list would obviously cause conservatives to commit hari kari: Graham, Martinez, Lieberman, Bloomberg, and Whitman, for example. (*UPDATE: Martinez was born in Cuba and thus ineligible). Others are probably too young and/or inexperienced to merit serious consideration: Jindal, Corker, Largent, and Ryan. Carly Fiorina (the former head of HP) and Herman Cain (former CEO of Godfather's Pizza) are two of the most out-of-the-box names on the list, but that also makes it hard to see them being a heart beat away from the Presidency.
Condoleezza Rice is so supremely talented I find it hard to believe conservatives wouldn't be thrilled to see her on the ticket, and she would obviously raise the bar of a "first" to a new level, though in the current political climate there is an obvious risk of taking someone from the current administration.
Colin Powell would also be a great choice: it would be an American hero ticket that would be extremely formidable in November.
Chris Cox also strikes me as a solid choice: conservative, Harvard educated, acute knowledge of the economy, and an 8-term member of Congress including a stint as Chairman of the Select Committee on U.S. National Security to boot. Very impressive stuff.
**Chao was born in Taiwan. Not eligible.
