Kerry, I think the nooses I see hanging from the back of red neck pickups down here in Texas would argue against that assessment. We have racial murders and assaults all the time, including a black man dragged around town by a pickup. And Jena is located in our neighboring state of Louisiana.

I rarely heard that sort of thing when I lived in California, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Missouri, or Minnesota. Though I once worked in the north with a guy who referred to American Jews as "the enemy." Not Israelis, whom he liked. A lot. I never understood his warped logic on that one.
