Morning Mr. Caruthers,

I don't have much hope for the likes of Freescale. They have much bigger problems than MRAM can solve... bigger than FRAM could solve for that matter.

When I look at China's growth in 300mm capacity, absorption of bleeding edge manufacturing processes, and increasing population of experienced EEs... it boggles my mind how anyone at Freescale, QI, ST, NXP or MU can drag themselves to work every day.

I know I certainly wouldn't want to be responsible for their future business plans. The commodity end of this business is simply insane. I wonder how long it will be before SMIC has enough traction to take down L'Intel.

Then again... is it even worth it at this point? The entire Moore's Law paradigm is going to come to a screeching halt by 2015. Production capability is at least 10 years ahead of application development and every year of hardware progress only makes it worse.

Technology is being forced to serve to many passing fads just to pay the bills IMVOP. The entire wireless industry is too fragile, complex, and frivolous to merit the kind of investment it takes and its leading the tech industry into blind canyons that do precious little to resolve any significant problems humanity has to face.

But hey... maybe having a bunch of fancy mobile ring tones, i-Tunes, and Google maps to lead us onto the express lane to hades will be comforting. <ack><Hoo><ack>
