Re: " What you said amounted to the same thing,"

No.

It *most certainly does not*. (Please try to deal with what I ACTUALLY SAY... not what you imagine, or wish, or prefer that I'd said....)

Re: "but rather than continuing to harp on that I'll ask. Taken in isolation from spending issues, where the tax cuts a good, bad, or neutral thing, in your opinion?"

ALREADY ANSWERED (and: repeatedly, too!)

But, I'll reiterate.

(First though, a caveat: In the real world of government budgetary policies and actions... nothing is ever 'in isolation'. SPENDING *and* REVENUE are, and always have been, the two sides of every budget. So your question is hypothetical and or rhetorical....)

Never-the-less, as to your question "were tax cuts good?" (Note: I've already commented that the Bush II tax changes represented just a "modest" tax cut....)

And, I've ALSO already answered (several times) any possible questions about the 'goodlyness' of tax cuts:

1) Lower taxes GOOD. (Increase economic performance of the US economy & revenues) but,

2) But continual Federal Deficits BAD. (Lower economic performance level of the American economy & revenues).
