think the government should give really strong incentives to companies that will locate or re-locate there.

When I was working in SV, my CEO lived in a modest ranch house in Palo Alto, more modest than my parent's house. But, in the mid-nineties, it was worth half a millon. I told him if he moved the company to Austin, he could have a nicer house on a lake with a dock and a powerboat for the same money, and engineers like me could buy houses too. Provincially not at all interested.

Did he move to Austin? I didn't think so. Its a problem. Some companies are willing to move to the interior but they are far and few in between. And they mostly move to TX.
